In an effort to meet the needs of returning veterans, many organizations are providing creative solutions to help provide accessible pathways to a rewarding career. One such program has created a bridge course that allows veterans who have served as medics or corpsman to sit for the NCLEX-PN® licensure exam. By helping these men and women effectively integrate back into society, they are being empowered to begin careers in an ever-growing industry. The speaker will discuss lessons learned and the vision for the future of this program and the progression pathway to further assist Veteran students in achieving their goals.
Objectives
  • Describe the use of the NCSBN gap analysis in the creation of a bridge course for returning Veteran's with a healthcare designation to be qualified to sit for the NCLEX-PN.
  • Describe the needs of veterans seeking reentry into the job market.
