Preparing for the Next Generation of NCLEX®: Applying Clinical Judgment in the Classroom

featuring Karin J. Sherrill, RN, MSN, CNE, CHSE, ANEF, FAADN

Live: Wednesday, November 28, 2018 @ 1:00 pm CT

  • Description

  • Presenters
Years ago, the NCLEX(R) Exam Committee of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing was posed with the question, Is the NCLEX(R) measuring the right things? This question led to the development of a model for clinical judgment and the piloting of NCLEX(R) test items, unlike any before. How do we prepare our students for this type of licensure exam? As an educator, it is important to understand the research that has been presented and operationalize high-level, clinical judgment in each classroom activity.
Objectives
  • Review the NCSBNs research related to Clinical Judgement.
  • Discuss the anticipated NCLEX® Next Gen testing changes.
  • Explore activities for NextGen success.
