Donna Meyer, MSN, RN, ANEF, FAADN
Donna Meyer is the Chief Executive Officer of the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing and a member of the executive leadership for the National Education Progression in Nursing Collaborative. Her career spans over thirty-eight years in nursing practice and education. She previously was Dean of Health Sciences at Lewis and Clark Community College and the Director of the Lewis and Clark Family Health Clinic, the only nurse-managed center operated by a community college. Ms. Meyer has held offices in both state and national professional organizations and been a participant with the Robert Wood Johnson Academic Progression in Nursing Advisory Board, the Institute of Medicine’s Global Forum on Interprofessional Healthcare Education, American Association of Community Colleges Workforce Commission, the Nurses on Boards Coalition Board of Directors, and the National Nursing Centers Consortium Health Policy Committee.
She has presented at national and international conferences on nursing leadership, innovative clinical practice, and education. She has numerous publications related to academic progression in nursing. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Illinois Nurses Association Innovation in Health Care Award, Illinois Nursing Pinnacle Leader of the Year, and the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award. She was inducted into the Southern Illinois University Hall of Fame and is a fellow of both the National League for Nursing’s Academy of Nursing Education and the Academy of Associate Degree Nursing.
