Join Dr. Tim Bristol on a life-changing trip!
Dr. Bristol (NurseTim) has been leading teams to Haiti since 2007. Through these trips, and other work in Haiti, he has guided over 300 people through activities related to healthcare, nursing, social impact, emergency response, missions, community development and much more. This is your opportunity to help make a difference by being a part of this life-changing experience.
When: October 6-15, 2017 or March 9-18, 2018.
Who: nurses, students, faculty, others interested in impacting our global community
Where: Léogane, Haiti––FSIL Nursing Program (www.FSIL.org). This school has been built by the US government (USAID) and the Medical Benevolence Foundation, an arm of the Presbyterian Church (USA), over the past ten years. The accommodations are modern and include excellent opportunities for building relationships with faculty, students, and members of the community. What: Currently, the agenda includes hospital, pediatric, community, and orphanage experiences. There will be one day of recreation (beaches are involved). English-speaking nurses and students will be translating, as will other professional Haitians we have worked with over the years.
How: The team will fly as a group into Port au Prince. A team from FSIL will be ready to receive everyone. Once all are loaded on the shuttles, the group will travel 90 minutes to Léogane. Most of the week’s activities will happen in Léogane.
Cost: $1775.00 is the cost for this trip. It includes all room, board, and travel in country. It also includes one recreational day, translator, and other planned event services. This price does not include airfare. Airfare must be approved by NurseTim staff before it is purchased.
Nursing Contact Hours
23.5 hours of nursing continuing education will be awarded upon completion of CE criteria. Certificates of completion will also be provided if requested.
NurseTim, Inc. is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. CE completion criteria includes: payment of conference fee, attendance of the entire session, and submission of a completed evaluation tool. All faculty and planners at nursing continuing education activities are required to disclose to the audience (1) any significant financial relationships with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial products, goods or services and (2) any unlabeled/unapproved uses of drugs or devices discussed in their presentations. Such disclosures will be made in writing in the course presentation materials.
