  • Is the online workshop independent study?
    No, the online workshop is very interactive. You will be discussing E-learning and practicing with others. To Top
  • What is ‘asynchronous?’
    Asynchronous is a term that is used in E-learning to describe the discussion interactions. It means that we are in a discussion BUT we do not need to be online at the same time. For example:
    • Monday – NurseTim posts a question, then Participant 1 answers.
    • Tuesday – Participants 2-5 come online and answer the question and participants 4 and 5 also reply to Participant 1.
    • Wednesday – Participants 6-10 come online and answer NurseTim’s question. Participants 2,4,7,8,9 also reply to other participants.
    This is an example of a typical Asynchronous discussion. Not to be confused with chatting where everybody is online at the same time.

  • How many days a week do I need to be online?
    For the 4 week online workshop you should plan 3-4 days a week online where you check in and see what is happening, post an assignment or two and tell the group what is happening in your world. Most participants spend 5-10 hours a week on the course. To Top
  • How long is the online workshop?
    The online workshop lasts for 4 weeks. It is 24 contact hours total. To Top
  • What is the difference in the online workshop and the Face-to-Face Workshop?
    The online workshop is a much deeper look at the theory and instructional design of E-learning. To Top
  • What is a Webinar?
    A webinar is a conference that happens with all participants online at the same time. We use the phone to talk. The online workshop does NOT require us all to be online at the same time. To Top
