
Dr. Tyler Zerwekh is the Deputy Administrator for the Environmental Health Services Bureau at the Memphis and Shelby Health Department. His duties include oversight of the Pollution Control, Vector Control, Environmental Sanitation, and Emergency Preparedness programs within the Health Department. He has been with the organization for two and a half years, after previous ventures with the City of Houston Health Department, the University of Texas, and the Hawaii Department of Health. In prior positions, Tyler has worked in the laboratory, epidemiology, public health preparedness, environmental health, and administrative components of the public health field. Dr. Zerwekh recently completed the prestigious Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute program. Dr. Zerwekh has published emergency preparedness articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals and has also written three chapters about emergency preparedness in scientific texts.
